Fire Risk Assessment

What is the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
In the United Kingdom the Fire Service was subject to the Fire Services Act 1947 and in 2004 it was replaced in England and Wales by the The Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 – Chapter 21. However fire safety was covered by about seventy pieces of fire safety legislation the principal ones being the Fire Precautions Act 1961 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997/1999. Part of which requires businesses to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment and to have it audited annually.

Fire Door Inspection and Testing

Fire Door Inspection is now a requirement by law. Your Fire Doors now need to be inspected twice a year Fire Technician in accordance with British Standard 5839-1:2013.

Fire Safety Training

As part of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 it is requirement that your staff have some level of fire safety training. The level of training required will depend on the size of the business, type of work conducted and the results of the Fire Risk Assessment that has been carried out.
